SURFBOARD EPOXY FISH

What type of short board surfboard should I get?
I’ve been surfing for a bit over a year, I progressed from an 8ft soft board, to a 6′6 thick railed fish, to a 6′10 standard short board (all were my friend’s boards). I don’t have too much money to spend but definitely want a good epoxy (Tuflite or the like). I only surf waves that are 6ft and smaller, I weight 145lbs, and I’m 5′11. My friend thinks I should get a 6′3 and just work my ass off to learn on it. Any help would be awesome! Thanks!
i forgot to mention that I want it to be a good epoxy board because I want it to last me a long time without fear of damaging or breaking it
Go to a surf shop, not a computer. You can actually discuss things like your size, skill level, local wave conditions, surfboard durability and price with the folks there instead of listening to a bunch of people on the computer who have no idea where you surf. There is NO WAY anybody can give you legitimate answer to this question on line (unless they say “go to a surf shop1″)
I have been surfing for 42 years, and I take my surfboard purchase questions to good local shops in the places where i surf. PS. there is a difference between an epoxy board and a “tufflite” process board.
