COUCH SURFING RULES

please help me on some set rules for my soon to be 17 yr old daughter…Im going nuts!!?

Shes 16 and will be 17 in Aug. She feels very strongly and there are plenty of arguements that she should be able to come and go as she pleases since she is so close to 18 that she should experience life before shes out of the house and somewhat under my protection. I dont look at it that way. She has a curfew that is reasonable and she has to clean kitty litter and schoolwork and her room needs to be clean. The thing we are batteling right now is te amount of nights she spends away from home. Im a single mother and our place is small and we live in a rich neighborhood. She refuses to bring anyone here, and if it was up to her she would couch surf every night and never come home. i told her she can spend 3 nights a week away from home in the summer. is that unreasonable? yes, our home is boring and we dont have guitar hero or the pool or trampoline, but i feel the kids gotta have a home base. what do you all think?

Why are you arguing with her? It should be your way or the highway. If she want to act grown, let her be grown. Let her ‘couch surf’ every night and changed the locks on your doors. Let her see if life is so great on the streets. If she don’t appreciated what you’re doing for her, let her go.
