BALSA WOOD SURFBOARDS

balsa wood surfboard?
Would it be possible to make a surfboard out of balsa wood? Im thinking it would be really light and durable, it would be made of overlapping 36″x6″x1/4″ planks of balsa, of course I would glass over it when have the final shape.
Yes indeed. the first modern surfboards were built on balsa wood blanks. Some shapers are building new boards out of balsa again. You need to study some surf history, and do a little research on balsa wood surfboards, then you will be ready to go.
