AUSTRALIA SURFING QUEENSLAND
Australia (Southport, Queensland) June-July?

Im doing an exchange program to Southport, Queensland from the last week of June to the last week of July and I have a few questions:

1) What is the weather like?
2) What sports are played at schools during June/July?
3) What Austalian holidays are celebrated in June/July?
4) Is there surfing during that time?
5) What is net ball?

Please answer as many questions as you can. Thanks!

I live just up the road.

1) Southport is on the Gold Coast. The weather is excellent. It may be chilli at night but during the day expect it to be warm and sunny. (Australian cold is not even cold (we’re just spoilt))

2) We a sport mad nation. All sports…..

3) Queens birthday is 9th of June, so you will miss it but Southport is just next to “Surfers Paradise”. Surfers is a huge party town so if you’re looking for a celebration you won’t have to look far!

4) Lol. You’re coming to the most beautiful beaches on the planet. Lol. Of course there’s surfing. All year round baby!

5) Netball is like basketball but no running. Just passing, no bouncing etc. It will look crazy the first time you see it. Lol.

Anyways, YOU’RE coming to QUEENSLAND “SURFERS PARADISE” so you better get a fake tan and bring plenty of beach sun and fun clothes!!

Just minutes from Southport is “Wet and Wild”, “White Water World”, “Dreamworld”, “Movie World” and “Sea World”. You guessed it…THEME PARKS!!! (google them ie. wet and wild queensland etc etc)

I hope you have fun and you get a good family to stay with!

Izi ;-)
